If i only made $570 last year, why does the tax table make me pay $56?

Or you didn't put in your standard deduction. If your parents claim you, your standard deduction is 5900 dollars, therefore everything that was withheld from your pay by the feds is your refund.

So umm if I made like $8k this year and $600 was withheld and I got $200 back, then I should have also received the other $400 back?
