N Korea threatens to scrap truce

North Korea has threatened to pull out of the armistice agreement that ended the Korean War, accusing the United States of breaking its terms.

Well, well, well...

If they weren't asking for it before, they sure as hell are now!!!!

Why? I say give the Japanese all the weaponry they want, and pull out of South Korea altogether. Watch Japan create a whole new Code of Bushido on their asses collectively.

With all these war/battle threads tonight I looked at your sig and was particularly drawn to the
"We are the new Roman Empire, it's time we start behaving like it. " part and have to dig into it a little bit.

It depends on how you look at it but you could attribute the fall of the roman empire to declining morals and values, poor public health, political corruption, unemployment, inflation, excessive military spending and expansion, etc. Maybe we're well on our way? Reasons are numerous and can be argued all day, but the roman empire is no longer and destroyed itself. All empires eventually do.

The US is still in the "republic" phase, so we've got a good two or three hundred years to go... 😉

Only thing different is our leader isn't bi sexual like Alexander the Great was 😉

True, all empires do eventually fail (well, all empires have eventually failed -- no way to predict the future). However, the U.S. isn't an empire in the same manner as the Romans or the British, which is why the doomsayer predictions of a demise of U.S. power are misplaced.

The U.S. is on top because we are prosperous within ourselves with the help of global trade. Unlike an empire, we do not rely on far flung terrorities to fuel our prosperity -- we simply trade with other sovereign nations and have the highest GNP, BY FAR, of any nation in the world. The British lost their territories to nationalist movements and lost their power. If we lose our trade partners, then the whole world is screwed right along with us because it would be the collapse of the world economy. Further, it's highly unlikely that a massive trade war could isolate us from the world because everyone's economies are so intertwined that no one would win such an economic struggle.
