So the company I work for is changing wireless providers and have given me a choice of which phone I want to use for a set amount of cash. The highest on the list available to me is the Motorola v551 or the N-Gage QD.

Above I admitted to being a geek, but with that being said is the QD too geeky? I kind of feel like it might be just a step too far.

BTW, for the uninformed, the QD isn't the taco phone that originally came out. It is a revamped version that has addressed the issue of "sidetalkin". So while not embarassing to talk on, it is a disclaimer to the world that I am beyond therapy.

Anyway, aside from the question above the bonus of the v551 is that it plays MP3 and has a camera whereas the QD does neither, but does play games and such.

 
The QD is lame. If you're going to look like a geek while talking on a cellphone, you might as well get a blackberry, at least it's useful.
 
The ncrap is horrible. Absolutely horrible. The screen is half the size of a gameboy and the picture quality is crap.

What is wrong with the V300? I have a V400, which is practically the same phone, but with an extra feature or two, and a different button layout/color scheme. It has been a great phone.
 
if you know what to do with the qd, then youll know.
just mmc card, card readr for pc, and bang send the mp3/pix/games/ringtones/updates

EDIT: i'd get the moto since i have a psp. if i didn't i'd probably still get the moto only because of the history of n-gage devices.
 
I have to agree, the nGage is a piece of crap. At E3 they had a LARGE, yet entirely *empty* booth. No one cared. The graphics sucks, the design sucks, the games aren't fun, etc.

Nokia's got the marketing down, no doubt, but the product is pure trash. Now, if they had a cell phone with, say, a *gameboy* embedded...

my v400 is a piece of $hit....I hate motorola....why can't they make a decent charger...the little three wire thing sucks.....Whoever decided that was the standard motorola is going to use...will burn in the bottom level of hell....even below people that spit in other peoples food...

NGAGE games really suck, but what I did was get an NES and Gameboy emulator. When Im bored, I can play zelda and supermario. =)

The V551 plays MP3's? I actually just got this phone yesterday from AT&T as a replacement to my V600, I'm still getting familiar with it myself.

So far though it seems like a very solid phone and I have been happy with it.

& thats just one of the things u can do with it, i got a 512mb Mmc for about 39 bucks,
and now the ng is my mp3 player/game player/emulator/organizr/etc..
