I hate flash websites. Its so hard to find anything since whoever codes them trys for visual appeal instead of functionality...

VW/Audi needs to get their kinks worked out before they drag them down.

Wasn't VW close to bankruptcy when they came out with the New Beetle?

I've had nothing but excellent experience with VW's. Had 4 in all :)

Nah, can't have been. They were however close to bankruptcy when the first Beatle was out and it was the Golf that saved the company. :)

Consider the source :p

No, seriously, VW's have problems, which is why I didn't buy one when I was car shopping recently. The sad thing is that one of my co-workers did buy a new VR6 Jetta (ironically, the same weekend I bought my new WRX, just over 3 weeks ago). I already have over 1500 miles on my Rex (trip to the southern Oregon coast this past weekend, beautiful) and haven't had even the smallest problem while her Jetta only has ~400 miles on it and has been back to dealer service 3 times already... and then wouldn't even start this morning. Needless to say, she is not happy.

Every car brand is going to have their lemon or two, although from what I've been hearing I won't be buying a VW anytime soon

i was looking for a new car last summer. I have always heard good things aobut VW's. So i did a little research on what model to buy.

While looking i found many sites/furoms that had lots of people complaining about the VW's. also ran across a site that was trying to get a class action suite against them heh.

i was kinda shocked. i always thought VW's were great cars.

every car company has bad cars, but only VW has a dealership network that is VERY dedicated to f-ing the customer in the ass. hard. and than telling you that it's completely normal.

I agree. Even the relatively reliable Passat was affected by that coil pack problem. Plus, a close friend who owns a 2003 Passat was stranded on the freeway after his electrical system failed after less than 2 weeks of ownership.

There's a lot to like about VW's cars but it seems their quality control is lacking, and that's something which is very important to most consumers.

I have to say in the UK the dealerships I have purchased from go out of their way to help the customer. However I do appreciate there may be some that are not very good in terms of customer care, but these tend to lose their francaise agreement with the manufacturer if they don't perform.

From what i have heard, Ferraris and Lamborghinis aren't the most reliable cars either. They last so long, because the owners spend a lot of money on maintainence. But this is besides the point.

i saw the myaudittsucks.com site a few years back and thought it was great! it seems a bit cramped now with all the added content, but i do however, find it very entertaining. i particularly enjoyed the huge Lemon stickers on his car :)

My sister has a Diesel Beetle that hasn't given her problems.

Gets like 50 MPG or something crazy like that.

I wouldn't get one myself, however.
