MythBuntu alone or on top of Ubuntu

Building an HTPC and trying to decide whether to install Mythbuntu straight from the straight or on top of Ubuntu.

Does anyone have experience with this?

I'm not familiar with it, but looking over the site, I'd just install MythUbuntu unless you want the desktop stuff too. That would take up a bunch of space if you didn't need it.

You can do it both ways.

If you select "New Install" you get a bootable install ISO that installs ubuntu and the Myth software. If you select "Add to Ubuntu" you get a walthrough to do exactly that.

Im going to install Ubuntu first as I plan to use this machine to store media files and possibly other files.
