Question Mystery item ... Anyone know what this gadget is?

I found this item when rummaging in a drawer for another part. I don't remember what is is for, nor even where it came from. Wondering if anyone has a clue about it. Thanks.

Is it a remote switch for a weapon flash light? The part on the left looks like it would screw into the base of a flashlight.

You may be right. It will almost screw into an 18650 flashlight, but it's very slightly too big. Maybe I bought it by mistake many many years ago. Or maybe it's defective.

I noticed it's threaded both on the inside and outside too.

Thanks. I'm pretty sute that's what it is. I must have tossed it aside because it wouldn't fit anything. Then forgot all about it.
