Mysterious thing on the TA-cube proxy

After my little flush two days ago I was up to 29th place, and I hold the same place yesterday. Today I had fallen back to 30th place, but noone seems to have been able to pass me if you look at their output. What's up, did someone above me split their account?

What happens is that when someone is flushing in between the times that the consolidation script runs (twice a day), and they come in on a new 4th octet, they're temporarily listed back on some other page. Once the script runs, and the blocks are included in their total, the software adjusts the rankings.

Because they were their blocks already, ppstats doesn't add any arrows to indicate movement.

yes, but if you look at those above me, noone has flushed enough to pass me or they are so far away they didn't pass me yesterday. I am trying to see whho it was that passed me but I can't make it out. Do I make any sense at all? 😕

Okay, maybe I didn't explain it correctly. Let's say that someone listed as "john" flushes from the netblock 200.100.100.***, and that the fourth octet is dynamic.

In between the script, he flushes a tidy load and the octet has changed. This will NOT be listed under "john" but rather as either the above, or as some variation of the host name.

Now, let's say that "john" is in 30th place, and you are in 29th. You have 5000 blocks, and "john" has 4500 blocks. He flushes 1000 blocks to the new octet and, until the script runs, he and you will still be in the same ranking order.

Once the script runs, he will show 5500, and you 5000 and your position would swap, BUT no movement would be indicated by an arrow because they were his blocks to begin with.

It's kind-of a work around for the way we're using ppstats. Since it was designed to track individuals by e-mail address as participants, we're id'ing you by IP address.

I think I understand what you're saying, but I'm not thinking about the indicative arrows, I am looking at the situation now and trying to figure out who it is that passed me by checking the production of those above me. It's not all important, but it has bugged me and one of my drones all day.
