Mysterious service

bunker

Lifer
So I picked up a new Toshiba laptop with vista home premium for my wife to use. This is my first Vista machine and I'm going through the services disabling things that don't need to be running.

I came across this service with no description and a google search comes up blank.

fbdpinger

It's obviously not a windows service or it'd have a description, it's either some kind of Toshiba service or some of this bloatware crap that's been installed. (just pulled this machine out of the box).

Anybody have any clues?

I'm going to set it to manual for now.

EDIT: Points to C:\Windows\fbdpinger.exe

Disable it for the time being and see what happens.

If you right-click on the .exe and go to properties, maybe you'll find more information about it.

the first thing i did with my wife's new toshiba Sat P200D was wipe all that **** and install Vista Ultimate on it. fbdpinger is something i neve heard of, google also doesnt tell anything.
