I recently found 2 large hidden files in my root directory that scandisk doesn't catch.
hiberfil.sys - 392,820kb
pagefile.sys - 393,216kb

Anyone know what these might be?

hiberfil.sys is the file the OS uses to faciliatate system hibernation, more commonly used on laptops than desktops. When you place the computer into hibernate mode, it powers down about 90%, and dumps the contents of RAM into the file hiberfil.sys. This allows the OS to restore the system to exactly the way it was upon coming out of hibernation.

Pagefile.sys is commonly referred to as the swap file. It is the area that virtual memory utilizes when RAM is at a premium.

Both are normal system files. If you disable hibernation in power settings, the hiberfil.sys file will be removed.
I do not recommend disabling the page file.

If you run a defragment util, remember to decrease your page file down to say, 100mb, and then run defrag so that the swap file space can be cleaned up as well.
