Mysterious Drive-Thru Phenomenon

Have you ever noticed that sometimes people will go through a fast food drive-thru and order food, then pull over in the parking lot and eat inside of their car? This doesn't make any sense to me. It seems like it would be easier just to go inside. Maybe they are aliens...

I dont know, I ordered something the other day, and found a big bag of pot in it. Strange.

First of all, there are lots of people who are introverts. Maybe they just don't like society as a whole. As for hte pot thing, maybe it was like that person who put the whole days worth of earnings for Burger King and mistakingly gave it to a drive thru customer thinking it was their food. Maybe he kept his stash in such a bag for lunch time kicks and then gave it to you. How big was the bag of weed, not that your story is unbelieveable but highly improbably since druggies dont usually give away anything like that on purpose so it would almost have to be a mistake. Unless there was a fast food sting and they had to ditch it quick.

Oh, you must have ordered from the new Dime Bag menu.

I do this. I like to listen to the radio if I have no one to talk to at lunch. I also don't like annoying, loud mouthed kids running around due to the concept of discipline seeming to leave itself at the door of most fast food places.

Maybe they are doing it to mess with you.
Nah, if they really wanted to mess with him they would order at the counter and then go out and eat in the car.

I do that, I'm usually on business or a sales call and I have my phones and all the information in my car. I've also gone inside, ordered from the counter, used the facilities, gone back to my car to dine, and gone back in to wash up.

It's also a lot more comfortable than those cheezy plastic chairs.

If you clean up after you eat in the car, it stays clean. I don't let the kids eat in the car, though, if I can help it.

I grew up in the era of drive-ins, maybe that's why I think eating in the car is cool.

Plus it's cheaper to order through the drivethrough - no sales tax. Though, I doubt most people do it for this reason.

I did it a couple of months ago. I prefer sitting in my car with music on to sitting inside a grubby fast food joint with filthy strangers around me.

They charge you tax in Louisiana (hell, they'll tax you wherever they can). Is that a Texas thing? I've never noticed that before when in Texas.

What state has that rule? In PA there's sales tax either way.

Iowa and Wisconsin both have it.

No tax through the drive-thru??

That's strange. It's not like that in Utah.

Oh, and I sit and eat in my car nearly every day. I like to listen to the local sports station on the radio. :)

I think it's one of those things you see but never think much about. I never did it myself. Figured most people would do it to avoid being around strangers or to listen to the radio.
