damn straight. i understand that there is social responsibility to prevent ppl from preying on young girls, but imposing damages (even if it is only 1% of the net worth; this fact is IRRELEVANT) is not the proper solution. better parenting and policing of criminals is far more deterrent...

im sure its myspaces fault. yet at 14, for this girl to be contacted, she knowingly had to accept this man as her friend since so long as she didnt lie about her age, her profile shudve been private. in which case - if parents want to give their kids the luxury of being able ot use a computer- they shud in fact monitor their own kids online. and at 14, why are you letting your daughter go out and off on her own where she has the ability to go and meet strange people off the internet.

and im sure her daughter is so innocent. yet looking around on myspace, i wouldnt doubt her daughter didn't have pictures of herself up in half-naked poses while holding a beer bottle. (probably pictures taking by her mom so she could get her daughter caught up, sue myspace, profit for life...)

if the mother really wants "justice" go after the poor 19yr old kid that molested your daughter. not the multi million/billion company that cna make it so you can live in a hundred room mansion and never have to work a day in your life again.

This is yet another case of ignorant parents and their ignorant kids blaming someone else for THEIR problems and what THEY did wrong.

The ONLY people at fault is the mother and her daughter. If the daughter would have been responsible enough to know not to meet someone she met online, especially someone much older than her, none of this would have happened. If the mother had any idea what was going on, none of this would have happened.

It's not Myspace's or anyone else's job to baby-sit some little girl, it's her parent's responsibility. I fail to see how MySpace could have stopped this from happening. I really do.

Instead of suing when myspace was its own entity, they sue when it is now owned by Rupert Murdock's empirical Newscorp.
