This is bull beloved patriot. The parents or the 14 year old girl, not myspace, should be responsible. As a women and a supporter of women's rights, I believe that this just an attempt to get into some deep pockets.

Does this even make sense?
A 14-year-old Travis County girl who said she was sexually assaulted by a Buda man she met on MySpace.com sued the popular social networking site Monday for $30 million, claiming that it fails to protect minors from adult sexual predators.
...sexuall assaulted by a Buda man...
WTF does that mean?
Buda is a city south of Austin, TX.

people like that need to disappear, save us from their stupidity
See, I don't think stupid people should be killed. We need them to take the crappy jobs, and provide some amusement in life.
I just don't think they should be allowed to speak, publish, or file lawsuits.
What does she want Myspace to do? Require a DNA sample for age verification purposes prior to using the site?
but that would be a violation of her right to break the rules and do stupid stuff in privacy
"MySpace is more concerned about making money than protecting children online," said Adam Loewy, who is representing the girl and her mother in the lawsuit
"If you interact on MySpace, you are safe, but if a 13-year-old or 14-year-old goes out in person and meets someone she doesn't know, that is always an unsafe endeavor," Gelman said. "We need to teach our kids to be wary of strangers."

We live in an age where we have to monitor our children?s email. Something that was unheard of twenty years ago. I have two sons and recently a pervert tried to IM my 11 year old son. My son was smart enough to tell me when he got IMed by someone he didn?t know.]Thank God that they have seen enough on the news programs to know that there are some BAD people out there! I?m glad that someone is finally taking MySpace to court.

It's a shame what happened to the girl, but wow what happened to parental responsibility?
