The users willingly give out that information.

If the masses knew about the dangers of the information they leave around in their everyday affairs, they would be paranoid schizophrenics who never leave their house.

Reality is that life is dangerous, with or without the internet, when you come to terms with that then you have the tools to get over it and let life continue. If you can't then just keep being paranoid.
