Trillian blows any of the above (except for the guys who said Trillian ;)) straight out of the water. They don't even compete. I have all those features: logging, transparency, no ads, on ALL the major IM networks running in 1 program. No clicking "away, away, away, away" once for each IM program. I click away once, and AIM, ICQ, MSN, and Yahoo! all mark me away. Did I mention it's completely skinnable like winamp is?

Not to mention the satisfaction of not having anything AOL-related on my computer.

It doesn't get better than that folks. :D

i use trillian and it is kicking ass. sometimes AOL tries to block and you have to download a patch, but it is up for weeks now without a problem. if you just want AIM and want to get rid of the ads, download DeadAIM. it is just a little stub program that launches AIM without banners. google it, i'm too lazy to give you the link.

i don't like trillian, i gave it a chance..

aim+ would be nice if it didnt erase your entire conversation from the IM window whenever it hit 64k or whatever cause of the sh~tty way they implimented the logging. guy need to learn to program more efficiently..

If you use aim+ and visit/lurk a lot of chatrooms, you will get kicked off aim because of some "c++ runtime error"

just put a ; in front of the two lines of code in the aim.odl file. Look for the ones that refer to the ads.

Can I ask you what you didn't like about it? I understand everyone has their own opinion.

It has the same features.
If you don't like the interface look, then change the skin.
It has no ads.
It's free.

it's bloated. :)
i like having my mirc maximized in the background, i use my own script that ive been using for years.
miranda for ICQ.. very nice and small, i don't even notice it (and i barely use ICQ as it is)..
AIM.. with ways to make it a compact simple buddy list, directly from aol.. no problems.. no hassle.. :) compact.
i don't use yahoo or MSN

there ya go

It's too bad trillian doesn't support webcams and voice calls. Those features are making me stay with the damn yahoo Messengers. I've been getting bombarded with ads!
