MyBook workaround

I have a WesternDigital Mybook usb external drive that is no longer working with a Dish receiver.
I have taken the bare drive out of the plastic case, removed the little circuit board attached to the HD and plugged in a USB to SATA cable......My problem is that the Dish receiver requires the hard drive to be self powered, and by removing the small circuit board there is now no power port. Does anyone have any idea what I can do?
Thanks a million

Wow, thanks for the quick reply. The only thing I can't tell from the Amazon picture is where the power plugs in...my impression of my hard drive was that the 8 pins next to the cable connector were for hard drive jumper pins. Is this actually for power input?

Sorry, by studying the picture of their kit I can see that the area that looks like an eide port is broken into seperate cables. Thanks for your expert advice and knowledge, there is still some hope for me, as I can hear that the discs are spinning.

YMMV but another generic brand I bought that looks just like the one linked on amazon, has a horrible quality power supply and I would not use it long term on an application like a DVR rather than a short use scenario like occasionally rescuing data. Unfortunately I can't give you a better low cost recommendation as I just improved ventilation and replaced capacitors on mine. There used to be some nice metal cased type on some electronics surplus site but I can't find them now, probably sold out forever.
