My zip code changed... thanks for informing us!

You'd think they'd tell you if your zip code changes, even though they can probably still find you in terms of mail and stuff, but still something like that you'd expect some sort of letter or something. My zip code changed from 94596 to 94597, i have no idea when it happened, neither does anyone else in my family or my neighbors. We know it happened more then a couple weeks ago because I've seen 94597 periodically on mail.

I'm not mad, just kind of in disbelief that they'd change an area's zip code without informing them

You sure your zip code has changed? The USPS generally gives you great amounts of advance warning if they change something.

It's possible that they added a new zipcode nearby or that an adjacent area uses 94697 and it got mis-labled in some lists.

For example my zip code is 90275 but the area around here is mostly 90274, so sometimes I get mail to my home at the wrong zip code.

Actaully to tell you the truth i've had a suspicion about it for about a month. I have to go to ATT Broaband's customer support page a lot to chat with the tech's because my cable always has so many problems, and they ask you for your zip code. I always put in 94596, but for the past month they ask "did you mean 94597?" like my zip code didn't exist. I can understand if my family lost or threw away a letter or something, but not my entire neighborhood...

Could you go to the post office and ask them if they changed your zip code? I'm sure they'd know. 😉

same thing happened here

you'll still be able to get mail through your old zip code for a while, at least a year

the worst part though, is that none of the non-shipping-related websites have the zip code change registered- I try to look up showtimes at Yahoo! Movies and it either says my zip isn't valid (or sometimes it gives me the movie showtimes for Guam 😕 )

Simpsons did it 😉 (j/k I know it was an area code split on the Simpsons..I just wanted to say that).
