My Zen Touch

my zen touch made impact with a stone wall and that somehow disabled my volume up button. the volume right now is stuck at 13/25. i think that the button got moved so that it is not touching the sensor that will tell the zen touch to up the volume. so i was thinking i should open it up and try to move the button back in place.

so someone tell me if this is a stupid idea and give me alternatives?

If you can send it back do that... otherwise as long as you're careful I don't see why you shouldn't open 'er up and have a look.

you should try for a rma request.
(not sure if what you did is covered under warranty)
A lot of companies are quite lenient in their policies. logitech is one. not sure about creative.

last night, i fixed my zen touch. 😎

details: on saturday, i tried to open the 4 screws of my zen touch using too big a screwdriver. that didn't work too well. i ended up opening only three, but destroying the grooves on the fourth one. sunday, i went to buy the precision screwdriver set. today, i couldn't open the fourth screw still because its head was so messed up. i took the smallest drill bit and drilled the head off. then i took off the case and realigned the buttons with its sensors. presto, my up volume button works again, and my other buttons have the correct pressing feeling response again.
