My Zalman 7700ALcu is making a high pitched whine!

Anyone else have this problem? Anything to do but get a new HSF? (Without spending money? I tried speedfan... didn't seem to do anything. For reference, my mobo is an A8n-SLI Vanilla)
 
I had the same problem (after 2 months) - confronted Zalman and got no respond, eventually sold it cheap with a disclaimer, and bought a Ninja Plus.
Everyday of quietness bliss ever since...
 
If you can't get satisfaction from Zalman, then you have three choices.

1) Oil the fan motor.

2) Replace the fan (you can hack out a 120mm fan if you're careful and think it through).

3) Replace the whole HSF.
