In my front yard, I think there's a broken pipe or leaking pipe for the sprinkler. It's flooding. Everything is shut off, but yet it still is leaking. I don't know where it's coming from.

Who do I call? Plumber or is there some other specialist?

Does anyone know a good one in the Bay Area, California?

Uhhh... sounds like you might want to call your local City Public Service or whoever you pay your waterbill to and see what they have to say.

It sounds like the water main that comes from the main to the spud is broken. The spud is the valve that the city uses to shut off the water if you dont pay the bill.

Go out to the front of the house on the sidewalk (assuming you live in standard, tract-house suburbia) and look for a "cover" in the sidewalk that says "water" or something like that. That is where you can shut off the feed to you your house. Pull the cover up and the valve will be in there. Use a cresent wrench or large pair of pliers to turn the valve. You may have to dig around a bit by hand to find it. Then just call a plumber to have a look.

"Water coming out of your yard, eh? Don't worry about it. That's normal. All yards do that. Bling bling! Oh, did I just say 'Bling bling?' I just meant to think it!"

if its that "water" cover deal, the dept of water in the city will usually fix it quickly.
