They got about 20 CDs, my EZ-Pass, radar detector and the one friggin time I leave my Digital Camera in the car is when they break in. :|

What really sucks is that I'm TOTALLY overwhelmed with anguish and futility. I could get mad, but what for? They'll never find the JACKASS(es) that did it. And now I've got to go through a series of HELL.

- Contact my credit card (to stop additional charges on the EZ-Pass). Gotta call my credit card company and probably fill out forms, also gotta call EZ-Pass and cancel the current account and will have to get a new account...I'm SURE I'll get surcharged even though I got SCREWED.

- I've gotta fill out a claim with the insurance company. $500 deductable, there goes that money right out the window. Forms, paperwork, not to mention they'll probably want to STIFF me every which way possible. I can just hear it now..."We can only repay you the current market value of that item", or "we'll need all the receipts from all the items"

- gotta call the car dealership to fix the window. Which means I'm gonna have to take the day off work, they'll probably keep the car for 2 weeks and the window will never be the same after.

This week is starting our beautifully.

Maybe they break in because you leave your digi cam in your car.
Just saying that people should be careful of what they put in plain view.

The insult to injury here was that I had stayed home from work today to get my washer fixed. The repair guy shows up and the problem was a burnt connection, a simple and cheap fix! And the guy comments how 'lucky' I was cause the symptoms showed a more serious problem.

I'm 'lucky' alright.

I can agree with that. I always make sure nothing of "interest" is in view, but that certainly doesn't mean that they aren't going to break in anyway.

you should always hide anything of value in your car. it would also be a good idea to make copies of your cds to use instead, unless you don't want people thinking you are cheap...:D

this definatly was not your fault, but by some preventative practices, you could save yourself the trouble.

I'm really sorry to hear that, what a great hassle going to be with you. Maybe think about how they didn't do as much damage as they could have and your car is still mostly intact.

bummer....i feel for ya man...was there no security measures on the Xterra?...i was actually thinking about buying an Xterra...how are the security feature options that come with it?...i'm assuming less than adequate from what i read about your situation...unless of course you didn't have any security...ie.)club, alarm, electric shock, flame thrower, etc....

I am now feeling the benefits of having a crappy car and absolutely nothing of value inside it :) (Besides my flip face CD player ;))

20 cd's that sucks that is why you need to make back up copies of cd's so that you can have those in your vehicle and if they get stolen it is not as big of a deal. As for the rest of the stuff, that sucks

i second aliens notion.. my car doesn't even have a stereo deck in the dash.. (they dont know about the computer and audio equipment in the trunk)..so i never have problems.. i routinely forget to lock my car and no one ever bothers with it cuase it looks like such a piece of junk.. sorry to hear bout your theft though. take it as a lesson though and use it to protect your things better next time. not that i am saying it could've been prevented. but there are always more things you can do to keep your things safe

That sucks man. I hope they didn't do any damage to your Xterra, those things are sweet.

Worst thing I've had happen to my car is some kid paintballed it. Funny thing is I found out who did it.
