My XP is so SLOWWWWWWWWWW....WHY ????

All of a sudden my XP pro is so terribly slow to load pages. Is there a way to empty cache?,,or somehow to clean up the pages I have looked at?..I do ALOT of reading and research on the internet. I need to speed this back up.I'm running cable. thx,any help would be graetly aapreciated

Do an internet speedtest. Find out what your bandwidth is and see if it's a problem there. If you're dropping packets it should be obvious there. Then try reseating all your cables.

Well maybe you would go and format with out knowing what is causing the problem. But not me, I find things out,one way or another , figure it out. Anyone else with a suggestion?

You should try to create a new user profile on XP and see if that speeds things up. Sometimes your registry hoses itself and creating a new user resolves the problem and proves that it isn't the underlying operating system that is causing the problem.
