my XP is acting strange

HI! im having problems w/ my xp. this is my first time using 2 HDs. one raptor 74gb and a 500gb WD(sata). my XP is on the raptor and my testing apps, software, games is on the 500gb.

The problems im having is sometimes it freezes, its a bit slow(sometimes) and when im stress testing(orthos) my mouse is acting strange like it kinda jumps and it shows the right-click options w/o me right clicking it. (using a mx3000)

installed the drivers that came w/ my mobo(evga 680i) and pretty much everything.
do you guys think i should just reformat again and install?
what do you recommend for partition? coz im wasting space if only the os is in the raptor.

PLEASE HELP!

i posted this problem w/ other forums but i think they dont know or just giving me a cold shoulder =( *crying and going to the corner

Do you turn off your on-access virus scan when running apps.

I've seen the mouse act like that on machines during heavy disk access with on-access scan running.

You might try different RAM or at least try one DIMM in slot one only and see if the freezing stops.

You didn't mention your system specs, but try updating your video driver at nvidia.com or ati.com. Also, your Raptor may be causing the problem. If all elese fails, load your system on a different HD. HTH

where do i do that? im still new to this computer thing so i need all the help i need.

@crossrode
im using a modded GPU driver i was using this before i had my conroe and it was stable.

I just noticed you are running your 2.4 e6600 at 3.6. Your overclock is 1.2 GH. That alone could be causing your instability system's problems. My e6600 is at 2.6 and running very smooth with a dual boot Vista/XP Pro setup. I also am using an EVGA 7900GTO. Three GB's of RAM works well too.

i just updated my bios to the newest last night. and yes im using the ps2 mouse. i will use the usb when i get home later.

i probably re install the os huh? coz its screwed up nyways.
