My XP 1600+ won´t run at stock speed

I´ve had this CPU overclocked to 1800+ (1533mhz) for almost two years now, today when I tried to run it at
stock speed (1400mhz), the computer froze or rebooted both in games and 3dmark 2003 (tried several times). Then I set it at 1533 mhz again, and now everything is back to normal. Has this happened to anyone else?

Which motherboard do you have?

Epox 8KHA+
It´s totally stable on 1533mhz.

But why would it be needing more voltage at stock?

I suppose it's worth a try, but it'd be really odd if it worked.

I´ve already tried it at both 1.75v (default) and 1.8v (what I used at 1533mhz).
I don´t think it has anything to do with the voltage.

I just changed it, i´m going to get a 2400+ (266 fsb) tomorrow so i wanted to change back to default FSB and Vcore.

Just clear the BIOS first and see what happens. It seems like your mobo grew attached to the CPU at those speeds...:)
