My xbox died... How to salvage the hard drive?

I've seen ways to do it with a working xbox, but I am taking it out because the rest of the unit is messed up.

the hard drive is locked to the xbox, so its not that easy. was it modded at all? then it might have been unlocked

Microsoft is really good about repairing/replacing broken XBoXes as long as they havent been tampered with.

if you don't plan on getting it fixed, just use force

Its still useless to him. I have a 120 gig WD thats locked to a now dead motherboard. Its a big paperweight. There is one possible fix for it but it involves unsodering a chip off the dead board onto a new one and thats not worth it for a stock drive.

Know what model # it is? Want to sell parts off it?
