seems microsoft has in some ways admitted to problems.

upped warranty to 3 years for system that experience the red lights issue.

I'm reading it over several times to get a better understanding.

It's pretty simple: 3 year warranty for red-rings only, the old warranty otherwise.

If you have an extended warranty you don't get a refund but it covers other failures besides 3 red rings (HD or DVD failure).

You get a refund for (only) red-ring out of warranty repairs.

Wow, 3 years. That's the only reason I haven't complained about the failures. They haven't cost me any money since MS seems content to keep producing a product with high failure rates and then paying to fix it repeatedly.
 
Mine broke a few days ago (3 red rings)... I mailed my in and I'm waiting for the return. Other than this I love my xbox.
