My X850XT??? defective??

hey guys. I just got my MSI X850XT card. There is a problem. Everytime I run games like Doom3, Unreal Tournament, etc. the games just freeze and pc locks. when playing UT, the game sets itself from color of 16-bit (thats my settings) to 32-bit. It freeze once and then the game just quits and i get an error like VPU was not able to fully recover from hardware deadlock. It has been switched to redering mode or something like that. then it asks me to restart. This is just weird cuz i bought it off from some guy who said that it was working just fine before he shipped it. Im getting desperate guys. I cannot play games at all without having my pc to freeze. Please help me. I dont wanna be returning this monster of a card
 
1) How many watts is your PSU
2) Have you installed the right drivers / uninstalled the old ones
3) Is it just OpenGL or DX
4) How come you haven't told the seller yet
 
I have told the seller already. hasnt replied. its a 500w psu. (its on my sig?) of course its D3D. and yeah i did install the 5.6 catalyst drivers and did a clean install b4 installing the new ones. anything else you need to know??
 
Return it to the seller. You obviously have the right drivers and have enough power to use it. It could be some random conflict but I really think that it's out of your hands.
