as promised here.

cliff's notes version:
i deadlifted 557 lbs, placed 2nd, set California state record.
my son lifted 573 lbs., placed 1st, broke his own California state record.
my son's GF lifted 220 lbs & placed 1st.

details:
we competed in the world powerlifting championships in Las Vegas the past few days.
i compete in the men's 47-53 yrs old, 259 lb body weight class,
my son in the teen men's 242 lb class, his GF in the
teen women's 105 lb class.
i weighed in at 253, my son at 230, his GF at 103.

i was sick & felt awful, but didn't want to waste my meet entry fee,
& so i lifted 507, 540, 557 (the guy who won did 573).
my son lifted 534, 573 (looked strong), then failed at 584.
his GF lifted 198, 220 (looked strong),
then failed at a 243 lb world record attempt.

when i get the movies/pics hosted i'll put them in my sig.

I want to get back into powerlifting :( I had to quit this past semester because engineering showed absolutely no mercy on me. I don't think I'll ever have the kind of time that I had freshman year again :(

I was so close to 500 on my DL too. After I year I had a 480 deadlift, tad under 400 squat, and barely 240 bench. I needed 1145 to qualify....

I know they're young and this is premature...but just think of their kids!!! :Q

Anyways, congrats to all 3!
