my wireless connection is always disrupted when someone uses the phone

Try switching channels on the router... I was running mine on 6 or whatever the default was. I changed the router to channel 11 and the problems of phone interference and whatever else seemed to go away.

Go to the manufacturers website (for the phone) and see if they have a product data sheet. Should list the operating channels and spectrum. In some cases these will cover basically your entire router spectrum, but you may find some gaps. I have always foufd that you need to test on channel 1, 6 and 11 to get an idea of where the phone is. But by keeping to the extremes you run a better chance of finding the best channel.

That or get a new phone.

2.4ghz phone esp spread spectrum ones wipe out wifi during use. no way around it. spread spectrum uses the entire spectrum..of course. so channel no matter.

The spectrum is the same for any Mfg. From the low end, 2.412 (channel 1) through 2.461 (channel 11). Channel 6 is at 2.437 and each channel is 22 Mhz wide. This is for .11b or .11g. This is for the US 1-11 channel FCC mandate.

As mentioned, if your phone is frequency hopping it will jump around the entire 2.4 Ghz band. Changing the channel on the AP will be irrelevant. There are direct sequence phones however that will let you change the channel.

I'd go with 900 Mhz if I were you and wanted to fix your problem. 5.8 phones are still very expensive and frankly the 900 Mhz phones get better range than either 2.4 or 5.8 equipment generally. You'd might take a very minimal hit in sound quality.

Did you try changing channels? Worked like a charm for me and we have about 3 2.4Ghz phones as well throughout the house.

Samething here, I just needed to change channels and the phone stopped interupting my service. So give it a try.
