EDIT: Wireless connection isn't working. Using a D-Link PCI wireless card, my D-Link icon says "good signal" but my wireless connection icon says "not connected." Help!

Well, if you're getting memory errors it can affect everything since a program stores 10 and gets back eleventy billion.

You might want to run a disk check to see if files have been corrupted too. And memtest of course.

Well no, it's not actually DYING, it just keeps losing connection. And it just lost again on me, so I'm on another comp right now. D-Link says my signal is good (3 green bars) but my wireless connection icon says I'm not connected (or have little or no connectivity). Ahh!

Ok here's the lowdown:

When my computer boots up, everything works fine. Then I load up say, Farcry, play for a little, then all of a sudden I lose connection. Then there's no way to reconnect without rebooting again.

what router, what firmware version on router, how far away from it are you, has the wireless worked before......I'm sure I can think of more questions.......
EDIT

D-Link

Who knows what version, I can't download the latest goddamn drivers anyway

Like maybe idk, 50 feet away

Yes the wireless works when I boot, then after like 10 mins it loses it. It was just working, lost, now I'm posting from another comp.

It took me 2 months to get my d-link wireless network stable, so beware. But anyway in the dlink software should be an option for 4x enable or disable, its in a diffrent place on every version. If you can get into the router there is an option for it there as well.

I could but I'm lazy and it's late. I also downloaded the latest drivers (2.48) for my DWL-G520 and it's running a bit...well different (at least it's showing a difference between good and poor signal strength) but it's running stable. Now let's see if it can hold.

I have a D-Link based network, and I find that if the router reboots, it will not accept connections from other computers until they have rebooted too. No idea why this is. I guess just make sure that your router doesn't go down too often... Then again this might not be the solution, since you didn't mention the router rebooting.

I reboot my router all the time, whenever my connection starts getting sick and choppy, after that it works just fine.

My router usually doesn't reboot (I have my stable comp connected directly to it and it works all the time). However the times when this comp went down I tried rebooting the router and it didn't have any effect.

Well this is the longest it's been stable (15 mins :D) I need to hit the sack. I hope it was just a driver problem. How the f do they expect you to update drivers without internet?!

I don't expect you to update drivers Mr. Bond, I expect you to die. This is basically D-link's policy.

Jeez I know, D-Link has never really worked well for me (or I guess anyone) but what can we do? Oh well we will have to learn to live with it.
