Okay i decided yesterday that i was going to format my pc again because of various problems

so i stuck my xp cd into the drive and restarted my pc but it just booted up like normal, it didnt bring me to the xp installation screen like it did in the past

But the cd auto-loads fine when i open it by double clicking the E: drive

is this a threat to a bad winxp cd since it wont auto boot?

Your cd is fine. Change the boot order in the bios so it will boot from the cdrom first instead of your hard drive. Hit the spacebar when it prompts you to press any key to boot from the cdrom.
