Question My Windows 10 Computer Locked

My old Windows 7 computer freezes some times so my friend recommend me upgrading to Windows 10. I did it at night and was promoted to enter a password during startup. I input the former password on Windows 7 but it didn't work this time. Please suggest me a way to unlock the computer.

Hope you backed up prior to the conversion attempt. If so wipe the drive and do a fresh install. It may be possible the main board does not support 10 or hardware failure.

This. I've heard of this happening, sporadically, from time to time. I can only surmise that it is because of flaky hardware, specifically disk or memory corruption.

As long as you weren't using EFS, or hit by ransomware, you should be able to get a new SSD, install a fresh copy of Win10, and then plug the old drive in using a SATA-to-USB wire, and copy needed files over. You WILL have to re-install your programs.
