Window XP Pro cannot join my Win2k Server Domain. I made one of my machine as win2k server with domain.(run DCPROMO) and my win2k pro was able to join the win2k domain, but winxp pro would not join the domain.... I set up the DNS server and everything correctly... I heard you have to do something extra work winxp to join win2k server domain... plz help me, any network specialist?!?!?!

yes i am trying my workstations with windows XP join win2k server domain tajo.com, it gives me the error saying 'the domain cannot be found' I tried (right click on my computer, network ID, join domain) and correctly put the right domain name. I tried tajo and tajo.com both wouldn't be found... This is not DNS issue , I did it right... i did same thing with win2k pro, and it was able to join the domain~

Assuming you added your workstations to your domain...

In your WinXP workstation network properties/DNS, did you enter in the IP of your Win2k Domain Controller?

yes please give us as much detail as possible.

There should not be anything "extra" that you have to do to get an XP box on the domain that you wouldnt have to do with a 2K box.
