my window is fine when i run guake3 for an hour but freezes when i surf the web.. ??????

any idea why that is? i'm sorry to keep bothering you guys.. but this is really bothering me.. i have a 633 celeron, voodoo3 2000 agp, and a tyan 400motherboard.. i can't check the temperature of the cpu, i formated twice.. and still same problem.. the thing i dont' understand is ... how does it run quake 3 for an hour without a problme, and freezes when i run Aim and surf the web?

Are you overclocking? I have found MS IE to be the best stability test. Sounds like either IE is messed up or you have a HW problem. BTW, if you use Netscape then I have no idea.

Try to keep away from AOL and Microsoft. They seem to cause the most problems. Hmmmmmm....this seems a bit far fetched.........

ummm..in win 9x go into programs/accessories/system information and on the left it should have irqs somewhere. I'm not at home and all the machines at work are NT so I am pulling this outa my foggy brain. You can also hit alt-break I think, and get system properties, and check your medems resources.

i use ethernet.. but i freeze when i change windows, and move the mouse a lot..
