My Win98 Won't Shut Down

Hi Everyone,
Some help please. I'm running Win98SE. For some reason, starting about a week ago, my Win98 won't shut down like it usually does when i select Shut Down > Shut Down. Instead, it restarts!. Please tell me why. Thank you.

Try disabling "enable fast shut down" on the msconfig applet.

The problem you have can be fixed by going to windowsupdate and installing the shutdown fix.

msConfig applet? Where do i find that?

I just ran Windows Update, it didn't show me any 'Shut Down' fix it patch. I may already have downloaded it. Thanks though.

SDsucka I think you have to download all of the critical updates before you can do the rest of the updates (that was what I had to do)

SDsucka: you can run msconfig using the run in the start menu.
