Hi,
my Win98 doesn't remember password anymore.

i mean when i login to a page where u need to input ur ID and password. Win98 usually remembers it for you so ur next visit doesn't need to input everything again, just need to double click and it will do the rest for you..

but win98 doesn't remember anymore password and seems forgot the all of them...

i don't know if it is a IE or the OS problem. but i am always having problem with the OS.

It's in IE. I'm not sure, but is it the profile assistant? I looked through everything and that's the only thing that sounds close to what you might be looking for.

Tools > Internet Options > Advance > Under Security, enable profile assistant.

auto complete, thats a good one. 😉

Clear your cashe and delete *.pwl.
reinstall Client for MS networks and reboot.
Do the logon box like you first installed.
Should fix that.

ya, i read the help index, and it shows me exactly the same thing u told me

thanks for the input.

I've noticed that too.

I don't have autocomplete any longer on my home Win2K or office NT4.0 computers. All of sudden Yahoo doesn't remember any passwords and even if I click on remember passwords it won't memorize them.

If it were on one computer I would think there was something wrong with the PC but I've got 3 PCs which no longer remember passwords. Any idea why it does this?

security...
its all about security... or lack of...

i dunno about me, but i remember a while back in 98
i had this program, it it showed me EVERY password on my computer! i mean there was my windows login password, other ppls logins, my dial up connection password(its there even if you don't tell windows to remember it) my icq passwords
and i think there was a few stored in my browser cache/cookies

thats probaly why they took the feature away
they probaly stored it in a cookie, and either you disabled it, or they had security problems, so...
