Anyone ever have the following happen and solved it?

My Win2000 Pro OS computer freezes. Pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del and simply closing that window unfreezes it.

Then soon it repeats the problem and the same action releases the freeze. The only window that does not freeze is the current window ( It is not a total freeze, just cannot switch to any other window) So I never cancel any cycle out of action, just call up the requeter then shut that window down without eliminating any cycle and that temprarily brings me back the ability to go to a different window that is already open.

I have updated and ran the following:
1. Spy Bot fixed all problems found
2. Ad-Aware 6 Pro fixed All problems found
3. I ran "The Cleaner" and removed all problems found
4. I ran the ETrust EZ Antivirus ( That Microsoft Recommanded together with EZ Firewall) And removed all problems found

The freezes persist.

Anyone ever have the above happen and solved it?

Has it always done this or is it a recent problem? What's the make and model of your motherboard - do you know if it's a VIA chipset?
