I attended a funeral recently for the daughter and unborn grand daughter of one of my Soldiers. Now, I'm not a religious man at all, but I'll tell you what, the pastor doing the services absolutely sucked.

I'm thinking that in a time of mourning that he might have some kind of eulogy that addresses the emotions of the living. Something that addresses the pain and how to get past it.

No, instead he cracks open the Bible and reads passages directly with little feeling or emotion as if most of the people there hadn't heard it all before.

I went to one for a friend a little more than a year ago. The Father read the funeral mass straight from the book. Didn't even mention her name once during any of his comments whatsoever, and as soon as he was done, he left out the back door.
