Anyone else have this problem? I'm known in my family as an awesome gift-giver. I have a knack for coming up with unusual, suprising, and useful gifts that always make the receiver happy. Unfortunately, my wife is the complete opposite. She'll ask me what I want for Christmas, and every year I give about 10 suggestions. Then, I end up getting:
- clothes
- DVD's
- Some kind of metro cologne/manscaping kit
I'll ask her "what happened to my suggestions" and she'll always counter with "I don't know anything about that stuff you asked for."
I ask for music gear, computer gear, games...nothing too technical or expensive. Sometimes I'll even point things out in ads---still nothing. What the hell? It almost makes me feel like I'm not important enough for her to bother getting me a thoughtful gift! The fact that I even have to make suggestions is a bit insulting on it's own as I have some clearly defined passions and hobbys, yet I get the same stuff every year. I know what my wife likes and make mental notes during the year. She's always suprised when she gets something that comes from my heart, then I get a lousy DVD.
Seriously, a DVD is the worst gift. You watch the movie once, and then it sits on a shelf and ends up getting sold in a garage sale.
*prepares for more holiday disappointment*
