I needed a new monitor and speakers to go with my new 1.6a rig. I gave the old pIII to the kids along with the peripherals. I looked at the Samsung 955DF and Viewsonic A90f at BB and didn't particularly like either. Office depot is across the street so I slid in to look there. They have a Philips 109B 19" monitor. Normally $379, this week it is $299.99 with a $50 mail in rebate for a total of $249.99. This monitor is sweeeeeet! The other 2 pale in comparison and it isn't that much more $$$$$ It has a system called LightFrame2 included. This enhances photos/graphics. Awesome! I recommend you take a look if you need a monitor.
I picked up a set of Logitech Z-540 speakers for $51.99 on sale at Staples as well. FOR THE MONEY_ these are some excellent speakers. They are very crisp and the bass is definitely there. Another good solution if you're looking.
