My water heater exploded...

Better than your neighborhood's sewer line backing up into your house. I saw that on Dirty Jobs this weekend.. what a sh!tstorm.

gas or electric?

if gas, the gas exploded

if electric, i dunno, i guess the relief valve would have to fail and the thermostat fail also to get it stuck on to build up enough pressure

theres should have been a tag(or was) on your T&P valve telling you to test it every X months. you've been doing this right?

You don't have to kick the guy while he's already down.

You're the same guy who won't take the "DO NOT REMOVE" tags off pillows too, aren't you...

Do you test yours?

every 3 months when i drain the crap off the bottom of the tank. its not hard to do, you just push or pull the thing thing sticking out the top of it.

Well now is the time to look into TANKLESS water heaters.

Don't know why people waste their money on those old ass tanks after their current one goes. I got mine from HD for $600, installed it in less then 2 hours, NEVER run out of hot water now and my gas bill has been $20 less each month.
