My war poem.

Thrump, thrump, thrump echoes the beats of war.
Where were you when our way of life tore?
The people of Earth have no more fear,
the sound of war is coming near.
Some have said that it will not end,
others say that only time will mend.
Every generation came and saw,
the violence stuck like the tiger?s paw.
How much will be left for us to cherish,
this I ask before we all perish.

Not bad, but get over it. There has been war of one sort or another on Earth since the beginning of mankind. You have never been subjected to it and to feign that you can empathize with those who have been makes you a pretender.

Ever read 'the red badge of courage'? One of the most respected literary works about war, and Stephen Crane had never seen a battle himself.
