My W2K does not turn off the power supply

My windows 2000 does not shutdown completely. I need to press the case switch to turn off the power supply. Is it normal in W2K?

Has that been like that since the first time you installed w2k?

Check if you have ACPI or APM enabled in the BIOS and necessary drivers installed for them in device manager.

There's also a registry fix too. Go to www.regedit.com and type
"shutdown" in the search engine.

goto device manager and then click view and then click show hidden devices , you should see one of your devices disabled (ACPI or something), click enable this device and then reboot and you should be ok
