My VOIP box is stealing most of my upload... even when I'm not on the phone!

I recently ordered VOIP from a local company here in Ontario called Distributel. I have been pleased with it except that my upload has gone from 384kb/s to about 115. I plan to call their tech support tomorrow, but in the mean time I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. It's a Linksys SPA2102 phone adapter/router and my setup is: Cable modem -> SPA2102 -> Linksys WRT54G wireless router. Plugging in directly to the router solves nothing, so it's not the wireless holding me back. Plugging in directly to the modem, however, solves the problem...

Try putting the router before the telephone adapter. It solved alot of my speed problems.
