Im not sure if im completly correct on this, but doesn't S-video also carry the sound information?? If I was going to connect my computer to my AV Receiver. Would it be better to use just this S-video cable for video and sound? or use the Radeon just for video to the system, and use my sound card for the sound transfer. I have an Audigy OEM,Radeon 8500 REtail, and a Sony Receiever. Also a TV with only RCA inputs.
What would be the best way to connect my systems together?
My Receiver is the STR-SE591 500w System. Has optical, digital coax, rca input and outputs. IS DTS,DD ready. Has 5.1 speaker system attached.
I was thinking of using a COAX cable, and a mini adapter from the Audigy Digital out and sending it to my system for surround sound, when I play DVD's on my system.(USing Windows XP so it should work)
As for the video I would send it from my computer through S-video cable? to the receiver. There, I would just have the video from the receiver output it through a RCA connocter to my TV. IS this wise? or should I send the video line strait to the TV. Which one would give less distortion.
Computer--Receiver 12ft.
receiver-TV 3-4ft
Computer-TV 14 FT
Any Audio/Video Experts out there care to help me with the best configuration?
I hope I explained my setup well enough. Cables cost alot, and I want to know exactly how I want to run what, before I go out buying them.
