I just bought an ATI Radeon LE and it crapped out on me, I didn't even OC it. I'm thinking about replacing it with another videocard besides the LE, because I just don't trust it anymore after my experience. (Also gives me an excuse to buy a better card ;) )

Well, I was wondering what other card is good that has really good 2d quality and also good for games. I was looking at the Gainward CardExpert GeForce 2 Pro/450 64MB for $137, and the Leadtek Geforce2 Pro 32mb for $118. Hows the 2d quality on these cards compared to the Radeon Le? Will I even notice? I'll probably be watching movies and downloaded media more than gaming.

I'm thinking of returning my defective LE to newegg and asking them to credit me towards buying this card. Think I should go for it?

I have had bad experiences with the Radeon, but I know it has superior quality for 2d text etc. But I don't think that a Geforce 2 would have noticeable defects on your screen 2D wise at all. The Geforce 2 GTS w/ 32 MB DDR can be bought for only $90. Personally I think that's a great deal. I mean you could go higher and higher up the spectrum and get a better and better card, but for that low price it's definately worth it. Don't get an MX though, even though of it's low price, it actually starts lagging.

I mean eventually when the Geforce 4's come out in winter, the 3's will drop dramatically, and by then games should start using the technology of the 3, so the 3 would be a good buy. But from now till then, I don't really see any much usage of power greater than a Geforce 2 GTS.

Well, you might want to see if you can get warranty service out of your card, get an RMA and when you get the replacement, sell it.
