_Cassandra B: What is happening with the GPS on the phone?
rudeguy: Google maps can never get a fix on me and when I tested the GPS with an app, it could only locate 2 statelites.
_Cassandra B: This issue is related to how the device software is handling the signals received via AGPS and GPS satellites.
_Cassandra B: To improve location accuracy, you may enable wireless network use to enhance location determination.
From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
Tap Settings.
Tap Location and security.
Tap Use wireless networks.
Tap Agree.
rudeguy: I tried that already
_Cassandra B: There is no other way to fix the GPS on the phone.
_Cassandra B: Was it working properly at all after those settings were set in the phone?
rudeguy: no ma'am. Google maps still couldn't find me and neither could tasker. I use those 2 programs a ton so its really making me unhappy
_Cassandra B: I understand and I use navigation as well.
rudeguy: Here is my issue: I spent a lot of money on this phone and its really not suiting my needs even though it was supposed to. Is there any way you could authorize a swap for a different model that has working GPS?
_Cassandra B: I am unable to provide you a different phone at no cost.
rudeguy: Even though I have insurance and its well within the phone's warranty period?
_Cassandra B: This is a known issue with the phone and there is not an option to exchange the phone.
rudeguy: so what are my options?
_Cassandra B: At this point in time, you would be able to use the current phone or purchase a new phone. There is not a way for me to provide you a phone at no cost for you.
rudeguy: I understand if you can't do that. I was simply asking what Tmobile recommends I do. I bought a $500 phone that doesn't work. I've been patient and waited for a fix since the phone is brand new.
_Cassandra B: There is a possibility of the phone to have a software update to the phone, however, there is currently no timeframe.
rudeguy: and my question remains. What is Tmobile recommending I do?
_Cassandra B: I recommend to wait to see if a software update is sent to the phone.
