Man, i hate our ISPs in Canaduh :|

They offer a whopping 7 MB/s at best...:frown:, & that's heavily monitored, so anything over the 50 GB/month limit they have isn't allowed...

UP TO 15Mbps/2Mbps

Can anyone that actually has this chime in on actual speeds they've got?

People over at DSL Reports report actual speeds of 13mbps down, and over 1.25mbps up.
1.25Mbps is not even close to 2Mbps ... what's up with that ?

They quote "speeds up to" so it doesn't mean they guarantee it 24/7.
Well I know that, OOL said up to 1Mbps and we actually got 115-125KBps quite often. 2Mbps isn't impossible... what's up with it only reportedly going up to 1.25Mbps is what I'm asking...

Eastlink Cable based out of Halifax. I'm on Prince Edward Island

wow, bringing ADSL and SDSL into a conversation regarding fiber optics is genius

i guess on that note, i do have some confusion though as to asynchronous/synchronous and asymmetrical/symmetrical. ive heard A/SDSL defined as both at one time or another.

in my understanding this is an example of misused terminology. i believe a/symmetrical just indicates whether the upstream bandwidth is un/equal to the downstream. a/synchronous refers to whether the connection can or cannot send and receive at the same time. am i wrong?
