My USB Card Reader isn't working on the desktop, works on the laptop.

So my USB card reader isn't working. I plug it in , Windows detects 4 new drives, but every time I have a card in the slot and click the drive to open it I always get a "please insert a disk into drive X "

WTF?

If I do this on my laptop it installs the drives and reads from the reader just fine...

Using front-panel connector? Try rear panel USB instead. = lots of poor/substandard front-panel USB wiring out there...
