Could be the CF Format or it's a very slow card. It may also be a ststus, security or converting error. What kind and size is the CF?

Yeah - try a different C/F card.

Hi Guys,

any luck with the card. I have a Transcend 7in1 Usb 2.0 card reader and a SanDisk 256MB CF Card.
Everything went quite smoothlly up to the point I've pluged my card reader into a USB 1.1 enabled computer. At some point while coping some files, I got a "I/O Device Error" and from that point I couldn't do anything with my card. I can't read it, can't format it. I've tried to format it several times, with no luck. It will keep saying that Windows cannot format the card.

I've tried in MS DOS and completed a succesfull format, however, I couldn't read or write or format the card in windows. Do you have any idea on what might have happened ? I can't afford to lose the card since it is my only card and I use it with my digital camera :( !!!

If you have any experience of this kind, please help me out !

Are the pictures on the CF card accessible by your camera?

If so, then use your camera to transfer the pics to your computer.

Then try formatting the card in both your camera and windows.

I've had a problem before where a CF card couldn't be read by a device because I've formatted it with Windows and vice versa.

And definitely find another CF card to try (your camera should have come with a small CF card... unless that's what you are having trouble with).
