Well, I just finished purchasing the parts for upgrading my HTPC. I was going to post in here to discuss, but as I have been doing this since before XP Media Center edition came out, I figure I know how to pick hardware.
Anyway here is the upgraded system:
Case: Antec Fusion Remote MAX (no change)
Motherboard: MSI Z68A-GD80 (previously used Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ6)
CPU: Intel i7-2600k (previously E6600)
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM x2 (16GB total) (previously G.SKILL F2-6400CL4D-4GBPK x2)
Graphics: PowerColor SCS3 HD5750 (no change)
Power Supply: Enermax Modu82+ 500W 80Plus Gold (no change)
Optical: LG GGW-H20L (no change)
OS drive: Intel SSD 510 120GB (previously was Seagate 7200.11 500GB)
Data drives: 4x Western Digital Green 2TB
Capture Device: Hauppauge HD-PVR-1212 (no change)
Waiting on HDHomeRun Prime (and will make a decision then on that or the Centon)
Yes, I know the 2600k is a little over the top here, but with Microcenter having -$90 deal on it, it really made it a no-brainer upgrade over the i5-2500k I was originally planning to use. The extra threads will certainly be put to good use when using FFDShow on HD video.
