This is America right? It's the greatest place ever. You can come to this country and you can become very successful. Well my multimillionaire uncle did just that and how is he repaid? By having to pay tax after tax! Bullsh*t! And I put the blame mostly on the lower to middle class average joes that populate our great country.

You see the average joes haven't taken advantage of what this great country has to offer. So they take their measley $35k a year job and they don't better themselves. The taxes they pay are peanuts to what my uncle and even my parents have to pay. My dad and mom had to pay over $25k in taxes last year. That's about as much as what most people in Alabama make yearly. :laugh:

Here is an idea. Get out of America. Leave, because you obviously don't appreciate what America has to offer. You whine and bitch about people like my uncle, but he's a succes while you have failed miserably. It's amazing to me that people from other countries will come here and they are successful but the average joe can't even make over $40k a year.

It's disguisting and unamerican.

I work security on weekends and I'm finishing up college. I don't ask for squat from my parents and my uncle. Everything I do it's done by me and without the help from mommy.

I was just pointing out how my uncle was able to become a success while the average American can't even pull it together. My dad has an 8th grade education and makes good money, but people become jealous so they call for taxes on the rich. Why? Is it because he's a success and they're not?

By the way, my parents are far from rich.
 
My wife and I paid over $25k also, guess what we both work and both don't b!tch about taxes. I guess we love America a little bit more than Republicans.

Where in there does it say he is selfish? For all you know he make tremendous charitable donations. Wanting a tax break is not being selfish. Success != gluttony.

Wealth may not indicate success in many areas but in business it is the measuring stick.

He's not whining about his uncle contributing... he's whining about HOW MUCH his uncle is forced to contribute. And he's right. The wealthy pay a disproportionate amount of tax.

So again. What is your problem?

You should join him, sounds like you would be much happier elsewhere.
 
If he complains about Taxes, get out of america. Go to another country. America provides you with an opportunity, and expects something in return. That something is just a % of the money you make every year, in order to live, make money, and work in America. If you don't like taxes, or your uncle doesn't like taxes, tell him to buy an island in the pacific and live out the rest of his life there.

While the guy is greedy, sending the rich out of our country would rape our economy. We'd have to have 70% taxes at least to maintain our current spending (assuming we dont' have a deficit).

If this guy is really a multimillionaire, then he should see ~200k per year on interest alone. 25k would mean that he's just letting a large chunk of it waste away, because that's only 12% or so.

If you have that much money, 40% is not something to complain about. However, we could reduce spending by cutting some programs, like Iraq and drug care.

Actually income tax is only supposed to be paid by corporations. As a private citizen you do not have to pay income tax. It says so in the constitution. For some reason the IRS forgets about that and puts people in jail?

My uncle contributes to society. In fact, he bought the local fire department a new kitchen. In the end it cost him over $10k.

I'm not bragging about my uncle's wealth but I feel that people with money are unfairly taxed because they have the financial means.

just my opinion. Oh, and I said earlier my uncle doesn't give me squat. I do everything on my own.

I gotta say? if this government wasn?t involved in so many worthless social programs (welfare and unemployment on a long term scale), and giving me tickets for not wearing my seatbelt while driving MY car I doubt the government would need as much money, hence not needing federal income tax. I don?t think that ALL social programs are bad, just the vast majority are way too inefficient to be worthwhile.
